Art in the Stations

For more than one year now, Art in the Stations has been celebrating Brazilian diversity through its artistic manifestations. It takes culture, history, and entertainment to different locations in the country through powerful exhibits and transformative educational actions.

What is the project?

Over the course of two itinerancies, Arte nas Estações celebrated Brazil's diversity through its artistic manifestations. It has brought culture, history and entertainment to different parts of the country through powerful exhibitions and transformative educational activities.

The project decentralizes the traditional geographical axis of art exhibitions in major capitals, shedding light on relevant productions by little-known artists, narratives and different worldviews.

In its first edition, from January to September 2023, Arte nas Estações exhibited three pieces from the collection of the Museu Internacional de Arte Naïf do Brasil, whose headquarters closed its doors in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, in the Minas Gerais cities of Ouro Preto, Congonhas and Conselheiro Lafaiete.

In the second half of 2024 and the first two months of 2025, the project took place in the city of Campo Grande, with three relevant exhibitions and an educational project in direct dialogue with local audiences, initiatives and issues.

Educational program

While the exhibits are being held, Art in the Stations promotes mediated tours to the exhibits, workshops for families, and training for public and private school teachers. All activities are free. Guided tours in Brazilian sign language, audio description, and other accessibility actions will be made available through the Accessibility Program.
